Luggage FAQs

Q: Is there a fee associated with checked baggage?

A: Unless you are a frequent traveler on the airline you are flying, a fee may be imposed for each bag checked at the traveler's personal expense. It is important you go to the website of the airline you are flying to confirm their baggage fees, so you are not surprised when you check-in at your departing airport.

Q: Does PFA pay the baggage fee for checked luggage?

A: No, it's considered a personal expense. Check your baggage allowance with the airline to see what's included in your ticket. Anything above and beyond what's included with your airline ticket will be considered a personal expense and not paid by PFA.

Q: How should I label and identify my luggage?

A: Federal regulations require all checked luggage to be clearly identified on the outside and we recommend travelers place identification inside their carry-on bags as well. Include a name, phone number, and street address for the traveler.

Q: What are the current luggage policies and restrictions?

A: Airlines change their baggage policies often so we highly recommend you go to the website of the airline you are traveling and investigate its exact baggage policies. Generally, checked bags may not exceed 50 pounds each. Unless you are a frequent traveler on the airline you are flying, a fee will be imposed for each bag checked at a personal expense. It is important you go to the website of the airline you are flying to confirm their baggage fees so you are not surprised when you check in at your departing airport. Please refer to TSA's policies for other restrictions
