How the NLG Hierarchy Process Works
Agents must submit new business to activate their appointment with NLG.
Your upline directors can guide you through the submission of new business and the activation of your NLG appointment. Once you submit business and activate your appointment, you can participate in direct personal commissions and override commissions for your active downlines at a lower contract level.
First, agents apply for appointment with NLG. They are required to have PFA compliant E&O and an active life insurance agent license. NLG appoints them with their resident state, issues the agent a code, and places them on hold until they submit new business. Once the agent submits new business, NLG requests an official hierarchy from PFA. If there is a PFA hierarchy form on file we use the most recent hierarchy to generate the first official NLG hierarchy form. The NLG hierarchy form is submitted to NLG to build the agents first commission file. Hierarchy is not generated for agents until they submit their first piece of business.
For new agents in your downline, submit the hierarchy for their first business that you want them commissioned on. Only after they are paid for their first piece(s) of business should a promotion or change of contract be submitted. NLG has a two-week window to make contract changes effective, so you should wait for confirmation before you expecting to have new business paid out at the new contract rate. PFA hierarchy forms are located in the PFA Community under "Tools and Resources".
